Agent-based modelling and emergency response

This project, funded by NCCARF, aimed to develop a modular agent based simulation platform, tailored to end-user needs, that allows exploration of complex multi-scalar, multi-actor, emergency management interactions in order to promote more effective governance arrangements. This is a multi-disciplinary project working across intelligent systems design (led by Lin Padgham, Computer Sciences) and the social sciences (led by Darryn McEvoy, CCAP). The first funded stage of the project is developed discrete scenario around bushfire evacuation modelling. The scenario was developed in close partnership with key stakeholders in Victoria’s emergency services sector.
