Sustainable families

The project involves a collaboration between Dr Susie Moloney and Dr Cecily Maller as co-evaluators, and the Kildonan Uniting Care team.

The project team is adopting a ‘social practices’ framework for understanding householder practices and to informing the types of responses required to assist householders live more sustainably.

This pilot project introduces sustainability to family-services clients of Kildonan Uniting Care. The project involves discussion with family-services clients (low-income households) about ways to reduce energy, water and waste at a household level. The data collection will be interview based over three years. 144 households will be visited up to four times by a Family Services worker and a trained energy-auditor to collect longitudinal data.
